Falkirk William Hill Championship

Falkirk win promotion

The Bairns secure William Hill Championship title

Falkirk have been crowned winners of the William Hill Championship after a 3-1 victory over already-relegated Hamilton Academical.

A double from Ethan Ross and one from Calvin Miller cancelled out Scott Robinson's opener for the visitors in front of a capacity crowd.

Three points ensured John McGlynn's team have sealed back-to-back promotions after completing an invincible season in League 1 in 2023/24.

Promotion to the top flight of Scottish football will be Falkirk's first appearance at that level since season 2009/10.

Partick Thistle defeated Livingston 1-0 to secure their play-off place - they will face Ayr United in the quarter-finals next week with Livi taking on the winners.

Raith Rovers just missed out on a top-four finish despite thrashing Queen's Park 5-1 at Hampden while Morton defeated Dunfermline Athletic 2-0 in Greenock.

Ayr were 1-0 winners away to Airdrieonians, who now face a play-off to retain their Championship status for another year.
